Description
1937 Austin seven special. Usual 1950s modifications, boxed and braced chassis, flattened springs, Speedex independent front suspension. Hydraulic brakes and telescopic shock absorbers, lightweight aluminum body on tubular steel frame.
Two bearing splash fed engine with Hadley crank, unmarked at last engine rebuild in 2017. Rebored +10, head skimmed, double valve springs and flattened cam followers. 1 1/ 8" SU carb, four branch manifold, standard four speed gearbox. Converted to 12 volts with LED lighting, removable windscreen, aero windscreens and torneaux cover. I've owned the car for 20 years, and attended numerous shows and events.
It's a fun car to drive and have had runs up Kopp, and Prescot hills, and a blast round Curborough sprint track.
With a few engine improvements and better gearbox ratios it could have real potential.
