Description
A true collector’s gem: This 1989 Porsche 944 S2 Turbo is finished in the exceptionally rare Glacier Blue Metallic, complemented by a striking blue leatherette and velour striped interior. Powered by the coveted 944 Turbo S engine, upgraded to 250Bhp / 350Nm, and featuring the desirable 928 brake conversion, this example delivers both performance and pedigree.
Lovingly owned since 2023, I’m the sixth custodian of this low-mileage classic — acquired at 121, 810 miles and now showing just 121, 880. It was intended to be a long-term keeper, but business funding needs prompt a reluctant sale.
Recent work includes a comprehensive major service by renowned Porsche specialist e-Porsch, with belts, tensioners, and water pump replaced (despite low mileage since last change). The dashboard was professionally removed and retrimmed in leather, restoring the cabin to its original glory.
I have changed the correct Bosh battery for a new one within the last few weeks. All the hard-to-find original components are present: electric pump, detachable roof cover, load bay cover, unused spare wheel and tool kit. It passed its MOT at 121, 849 miles with no advisories on 13/ 10/ 25.
Cosmetic enhancements include new registration plates, upgraded LED headlights and indicators for improved night visibility, and clear front indicator lenses — all reversible, with original parts retained. The audio system remains as fitted by the previous owner.
This Glacier Blue S2 Turbo is a rare opportunity to own a beautifully preserved, mechanically sorted, and tastefully maintained Porsche icon.
- details above Glacier Blue 944 S2 Turbo is a pristine example of old-school Porsche magic. The exterior is immaculate, and it drives exactly as a proper turbo should — nothing, then everything, surging forward with urgency like a late train making up time.
It’s loaded with period-correct features: electric windows, mirrors, seats, tailgate release, central locking, and the iconic pop-up headlights. The electric roof panel removes completely for open-air enjoyment.
I searched extensively for the right car, and this one stood out — not just for its rare Glacier Blue finish, but for its condition, history and spec. It’s always garaged and hasn’t seen rain during my ownership.
Interior upgrades include a full leather dashboard retrim (not leatherette) and refurbished instrument cluster, with the notorious tripmeter failure professionally resolved. There are a couple of minor cosmetic items left to address — a small tear in the driver’s cloth seat and some discolouration on the side bolster — but nothing that detracts from the overall presentation.
A comprehensive history file is included, with MOTs and servicing records. I’ll also be posting copies of Evo and Car magazines featuring the 944 Turbo in comparison tests — a testament to its enduring appeal.
This car was meant to be a keeper, and deciding to sell has been incredibly difficult. After all the care and attention it’s received, letting it go will be a genuine disappointment to me, but the new owner will have trouble free motoring.
