Description
Alfa Romeo 156 2. 5V6 auto. Amazingly rust-free example of a classic 24-valve V6 powered sports saloon with a fantastic Italian pedigree. 63, 000 miles only, dry stored for some time, hence the lack of rust, it's never had any welding and doesn't need any. Recent thorough mechanical recommission with new cambelt, exhaust system, discs and pads, battery, tyres etc. Fitted with the Q-System automatic transmission, which is a proper automatic (rather than the clunky Selespeed option) but with the novel option of a manual gate. A relatively rare spec. Paintwork has been refreshed and the whole car presents very well and it is tidy inside with just the usual signs of use. It also drives and handles exactly as you'd expect from an Alfa, which is to say better than most V6-powered front wheel drive cars. It's not concours - and that's reflected in the price - but it's a completely usable Italian multi-valve V6 classic which falls handily into the cheaper road tax bracket. It’s just been through an MoT so grab yourself a bargain before the market wakes up to what it's missing... Based Louth Lincs. Might deliver. These cars are so very underrated. There are precious few 24-valve V6 powered saloons available in this price and age bracket, and almost none with this car's Italian looks, wonderful handling and unique Italian soundtrack. Drive it and you might believe it doesn't power via the front wheels... This one has been dry stored for some time, which is not always a good thing, but in this case, it means the bodywork and underside are unbelievably rust free. All the expensive bits like the cam belt have been done during an extensive recommission, it hasn't been modified or messed with, and it's ready to enjoy.
