I'm offering for sale this Alfa Romeo 156 saloon 1. 8 Twin Spark 144 bhp, in Distinctive trim, registered in 2005.
298, 000 km – petrol – manual gearbox.
A 156 that's been lived with, but runs reliably over any distance and I'd rather see it continue its journey with an Alfa enthusiast than end up as just another everyday car.

The 1. 8 Twin Spark remains a characterful and rewarding engine, typical of this generation of Alfa Romeo. The 156 also retains what makes it special: a particularly elegant design and a driving experience that remains genuinely enjoyable, with an agile chassis.
Condition:
Consistent with its age and mileage.
The bodywork shows some scratches and signs of use. The paint is mainly affected by sun exposure, with significant lacquer wear on the roof, bonnet and boot.
The interior is generally clean, though some plastics have naturally aged.
I prefer to be honest: this isn't a 156 ready to be presented immediately as a collector's car. The exterior presentation is its main area for improvement.
However, it offers a solid foundation for someone who wants to keep it on the road and gradually restore its appearance.
For 156 enthusiasts… or a track project
It could also appeal to someone looking for an affordable base for a track-day or circuit project.
The 1. 8 TS with 144 bhp obviously doesn't have the power of the 2. 0 TS often found in 156 track builds, but it allows you to start with a complete, running car with the 156's chassis and character.
The car can therefore continue its life on the road just as easily as evolve into a personal project: cosmetic restoration, light tuning, or a budget-conscious track build.
Why I'm selling:
I'm parting with it simply because it's become my third car and I no longer use it enough.
I'd prefer it to go to someone who appreciates what a 156 is rather than someone trying to hide its flaws.
The Rosso Radicofani also gives this car a particular character and deserves, in my view, to be preserved rather than disappear under a more conventional colour.
