WHO PURCHASED FROM
The car belongs to my Daughter, she purchased it privately early in April 2011, and we have owned it for nearly 15 years
and has had very little use over the last 7 years . An excellent unmodified all original totally factory original specification Clio Sport, which has not been misused.
The car was purchased in April 2011 by my daughter, she had been looking for quiet awhile to find a good condition Renaultsport either a 172 or 182 which had not been altered or thrashed, this car fitted the bill as being all original factory specification and not had the guts ripped out of it, she was in very exceptional condition excellent coachwork and interior again in excellent above average condition for then a 10 year old car, and we purchased it, my daughter has had a succession of Clio's before the purchase of this fine car, starting off with the top of the range Clio Mk1 then a couple of Mk2, she used the car everyday up until about 7 years ago 2018, and we have kept it Taxed & MOT for most of the time along with some service and repairs, only giving it sparse use over the last few years , as my daughter wanted to keep this very good Clio, but the time has come to let a new custodian have this great little car, which needs to be used and enjoyed and still puts a smile on your face.
Current V5 is registered in our name.
MECHANICAL CONDITION
An Excellent driving car, she drives as she should do.
The engine is smooth responsive and does NOT smoke or use oil, there are no knocks or undue sounds, she has an original factory specification exhaust on and not a boy racers one.
Wheels are original ones with original size tyres and the tyres are excellent.
The Gearbox is smooth all 5 gears change and engage as they should, with no noises from the gearbox and a good clutch.
Power steering is accurate with no knocks or squeaks.
She drives in a straight line and does not pull, with no undue noises or knocking from the suspension or drivetrain.
The driveshaft was changed because the boot was slightly perished the grease was seeping, the old shaft was the original one that was in good condition, but unfortunately the design does not allow the changing of the boot only.
An above average driving car, bear in mind that it is 24 years old, with a good service history.
BODYWORK
Is still in excellent overall very good condition for an original unrestored 24 year old car and still has enduring lasting presence on the road.
She presents well still having a good shine with a few small indiscretions which can be seen in the pictures, there is a small one on the rear N/ S wing.
There is no rust in the doors or in the door shuts or around the hinges or under the bonnet nor in the spare wheel well which is dry, basically a rust free car in above average condition for 24 years old, all in all the coachwork still presents well looks good and important.
INTERIOR
The interior is in excellent well above average condition even if it was in a much newer car, a non smokers car
The Renaultsports seats are part Leather & Alcantara, the front seats are in excellent condition, the passengers seat has no signs of wear, drivers seat is excellent apart from a very small hole which is not really noticeable and a little light patina, the rear seats are perfect not really having any long term use looking unused.
The carpets are all perfect there are no rips tears or wear or stains on them.
All the door cards are in above average condition along with all the plastic surfaces which have no scratches or marks on them.
All the rocker switches and handles in the car are all excellent showing no signs of wear.
The steering wheel was replaced a few years back in 2018 as the previous owner must have had a sharp ring that had scratched the wheel.
The roof lining is clean and has no marks or rips in it, the only minus on the interior is that this hot summer we have just had and as the car had been locked up and got extremely hot the roof lining at the rear of the car has come away a little as the glue has dried up and come away from the foam backing, only at the rear, it is not that bad and does not interfere with the driving or seating in the rear of the car, the easiest solution is to replace it with a secondhand one, it is a very easy fix as the lining is very easily removed in onewe have allowed for a few bits to be carried out on the car in the price.
All in all an excellent above average driving car with lovely bodywork and an excellent interior.
ULEZ COMPLIANT
Old school great driving car, be reminded at how old school and involving these great Hot Hatches are and feel to drive, with an excellent driving position, these old school Clio's sports had that wow feeling that only old hot hatches have, letting you feel the road, unlike the modern cars of today which drive you and have no soul or feeling to them and will never become classic cars as we know them today.
A very straight fresh crisp car that must be seen to be appreciated with only a few age related minor marks, & waiting for its next long term custodian to appreciate & enjoy driving the car
