Description
1970 Audi 100 LS // 40, 000 miles - Probably the finest example in the UK.
£14, 000 ono.
This is my much-loved 1970 Audi 100 LS, finished in its original paintwork and complete with a beautifully preserved original red leather interior. With just 40, 000 miles from new, it is, in my honest opinion, one of the very best surviving examples in the UK.
The car spent most of its life safely stored beneath a hotel in Malta, shielded from the weather, before arriving in the UK in 2017. The whole underside of the car has been undersealed. I’ve owned it for the last eight years, and it has been a joy to live with.
It’s powered by the original 1. 8-litre flat-four engine, paired with a manual gearbox, and features the correct inboard front brakes. It feels genuinely special every time you take it out - you sit low, with the big thin-rimmed wheel in your hands, and the whole thing has an elegant, unhurried calm to it. It’s one of those cars that makes even a short drive feel like an occasion.
Mechanically, it starts, drives, and runs well. My classic car specialist has advised that a new carburettor would be ideal - not immediately essential, but something worth planning for, and the price reflects this.
A few additional details:
- Currently fitted with Audi 100 GL headlights, but the original LS grille and headlights are included.
- Completely original interior in stunning red leather.
- Never modified, always kept as Audi intended.
- Garaged throughout my ownership.
This is a very reluctant sale. I adore this car, and I’ve loved having it. The reason I’m parting with it is that I’ve recently become a father and I simply don’t have the time to give the car the attention it needs anymore. It deserves someone who will enjoy it, cherish it, and keep it on the road.
If you’re looking for a beautifully preserved, low-mileage, manual Audi 100 LS with real soul and rarity, this is a genuinely special opportunity.
