Description
For sale is my 1996 Audi 80 Coupe 2. 6E in blue – a solid, increasingly hard-to-find modern classic.
Key Points:
• 2. 6E V6 Petrol – smooth, reliable, and pulls well
• MOT ready – all required work has already been completed
• Drives nicely – engine and gearbox are spot on
• Age-related marks as expected for a ‘96
• Interior – slight mould present, will need a clean
• Needs wheel alignment – drives fine but could benefit from tracking being done
This is a great base for someone who wants a usable classic Audi Coupe, with the big jobs already taken care of. Solid, honest car that just needs a bit of time to tidy up. I bought this Audi 80 Coupe because it’s one of the last proper classic Audis from an era when they were built like tanks. The 2. 6 V6 models are getting rare now, and this one stood out to me because it was unmodified, honest, and still drives exactly how an old-school Audi should — smooth, planted, and surprisingly quick for its age.
What makes this Coupe unique is how timeless it feels. The five-cylinder cars get a lot of attention, but the V6 is the one that gives you that effortless, refined drive. The shape of these cars is iconic too — proper 90s Audi styling that you just don’t see anymore. It’s a car that turns heads not because it’s flashy, but because enthusiasts recognise what it is.
My favourite thing about it has to be the way it drives. There’s a solidity to the steering and suspension that modern cars just don’t have. It makes every drive feel purposeful, even a run to the shops. You get that lovely V6 note, the long bonnet, and the feeling that you’re behind the wheel of something built with real care.
If you’re after a classic that’s still usable every day, has character, and is only going up in rarity, this one is a great choice.
