Description

Will come with full 12 month MOT at sale.

Welcome to the sale of my Vectra, affectionately known as 'Kagey' (I'm sure you can guess why).

I know I'm selling it and sellers like to over describe things, but honesty, if you want one of these, this is the best one you will find. I have never come across a 20 year old car with the service history and paperwork this one has. The previous owner bought the car in late 2005 from a Vauxhall main dealer, where it had been the dealer principals own car. He then kept it until the end of 2024, servicing it regularly and even replacing items such as the brake pipes front to back, steering rack and radiator. I have receipts for it all, moistly from Vauxhall main dealers until 2019, then from his local garage. There's even a receipt for a new AFL headlight unit for a cool £700 odd during the cars life. He really did look after it.

It has Opel's own 54 degree V6 3. 2 litre engine, which was a rarity in 2005 and almost unavailable now. Fifty four degrees is a narrow angle for a V6, but on the plus side, that makes it easier to work on than most. Its very smooth, quiet and powerful making the car very easy to drive with the five speed automatic gearbox. I'm also astonished by how good the car is on fuel. In the last 8000 miles its averaged more or less 28 to the gallon. That's incredible considering about 2000 of those miles have been towing a caravan. I regularly see 40mpg on the motorway (not with the caravan though) and since you won't believe me, I've included a photo of the trip computer screen.

Its made still rarer, because aside from being a pre facelift car, it has some nice options including the Xenon AFL headlights which turn corners with you (working). Parking sensors front and rear (working). What Vauxhall call 'multi contour seats', which means they're both electrically adjustable (working), drivers three position memory (working), heated (not working), drivers cooled (I don't think working). it's all in lovely condition. There is a small hole in the heel area on the drivers mat, but the carpet underneath is fine.

I fitted the tow bar, which is a genuine Vauxhall item and its coded to the car, so the bulb failure warning extends to the trailer when hitched and the rear parking sensors are disabled. I have also replaced the cambelt and water pump (second time in the cars life) along with an auxiliary belt. Serviced it twice, out of the 20 services its had in total, replaced both coil; packs with the OEM Bosch ones, spark plugs, new AGM battery, the list goes on. Oh yes, and the very expensive OEM rear self levelling shock absorbers that I had to source from Germany that were about £300 each, plus the springs and front shocks, you get the idea. And I've changed the automatic transmission fluid. Twice. Did I forget the xenon headlight bulbs? Nope, changed them too.

I'm only selling as we want to change our caravan and need a bigger tow car.
