A well-preserved and increasingly rare classic Ford, benefiting from a lifetime in warm climates and extensive recent mechanical work. A superb foundation for an enthusiast looking to enjoy or further restore a piece of Ford’s motoring heritage. Exported from the UK early in its life to Malta, this car later moved from Malta to Cyprus, spending the majority of its years in dry Mediterranean climates. This means no winter salted roads, greatly preserving the body and chassis.
Adding to its longevity, the car was Ziebart treated from new, providing extra rust protection. As a result, the underside remains structurally solid, a rarity for a British-built classic of this age. However, the paintwork needs attention as per the photos.
This example was first registered in Dagenham, UK – the historic home of Ford’s British manufacturing, where the Zephyr stood as one of Ford’s most recognisable family saloons. The Series 4 (1966–1972) represented the final and most refined evolution of the Zephyr line before the arrival of the Granada.
