1995 Volvo 850 2. 0 20v GLT automatic saloon. I’ve owned the car for just over 3 years and has been extremely reliable and a pleasure to own. I’ve used it everyday and been on 2 road trips to the Scottish highlands without issue. The car is very low mileage for a Volvo 850 at 88, 000 miles and has stacks of service history including 26 service stamps in the original book pack highlighting timing belts, coolant changes, brake fluid changes etc etc. Incredible history with the car including all the dealer brochures, 2 keys (including 1 new unopened fob key), original bill of sale and the newspaper clipping from when the previous owner purchased the car. In my ownership I have had various work completed the following work:
* 3x oil changes using genuine Volvo filters and Castrol oil
* Genuine Volvo spark plugs and filters. If genuine parts weren’t available I used the best quality parts I could get.
* New distributor cap and rotor arm
* New front brake pads and brake fluid change
* 2X front shock absorbers and top spring seats
* 2x front anti-roll bar drop links
* 2x front lower suspension arms
* Offside front wheel bearing
* 4x correct 205/ 50/ 16 tyres
* Genuine Volvo PCV kit and gaskets etc
* New genuine Volvo coolant
* Offside front lower engine support pad.
Externally the car is in pretty good condition for a 30 year old car and very solid underneath. The grey metallic really suits the car and is complimented with the very nice 5 spoke wheels. Very original including the SIPS rear window sticker and I also have the original rear dealer number plate from new. However there are some areas to improve, the drivers front wing has started to blister through but hasn’t appeared to have gotten any worse. There’s some dents on the drivers door and drivers wing and the rear quarter panel near the rear light. Odd blemishes around the car to be picky however these never phased me as I have been using the car every day in all conditions. This is something that could be improved on to take the car to the next step
The interior is in great condition as you’d expect for a low mileage 850, the seats have very minimal wear and rare dealer options including the leather steering wheel and leather armrest with cup holder and winter floor mats. It’s in very original condition including the original radio cassette with the code etc. The dashboard is also in great condition no lifting of the dashboard top near the glovebox. Please expect the odd blemish inside however it’s in good condition for the age.
I have some various spares/ parts that I’ve acquired over the years including a very rare saloon rear spoiler and centre brake light, original 850 under-tray, spare heater motor and resistor, spare PNP switch etc which will be included in the sale of the car.
Overall the car is in great usable condition as I’ve done for the past 3 years, it’s always started no matter how hot or cold it is outside, the heater is absolutely fantastic and the seats are perfect for long journeys returning relatively good fuel consumption. I truly am going to miss this car as it’s taken me to all over and has never let me down however circumstances have changed and unfortunately it won’t be used as often and would be a shame to see it parked.
