1990 Oak green MK2 GTI 16V big bumper 3DR.
Supplied new in 1990 by well known VW dealership Dovercourt St. John’s Wood. The dealer sticker & number plates are still present alongside the tax disc holder.
143, XXX miles on the shell. A shy over 4000 miles on the engine, transmission etc.
The MK2 has been Fully rebuilt by a reputable VW/ AUDI & PORSCHE specialist to an OEM+ standard at a great expense (It was practically stripped to a shell). The engine, gearbox, subframe , rear beam and all drivetrain components were removed and either replaced or rebuilt.
Engine/ transmission:
-16V KR engine fully rebuilt. This consists of:
-Factory 1800 KR block fully rebuilt. New bearings, piston rings, seals , gaskets etc. The block has also been machined , chemically stripped & refinished.
-Cylinder head completely refurbished, new valves, springs, cam followers etc. In addition, a set of Schrick 278 sport camshafts have been installed.
-Fully rebuilt gearbox, casing blasted & refinished.
-New clutch & cable
-Every bearing, gasket & seal replaced during the rebuild process.
-Black OEM Silicone coolant hoses
-HEL fuel lines in OEM black finish
-Full custom stainless steel system exhaust system coupled with a 4 Branch stainless manifold. It has been built with OEM in mind, retaining the original style tailpipes.
** The engine & gearbox has done a shy over 4000 miles since full rebuild, so it’s still as new!**
Suspension/ brakes:
-Underside suspension components all powder coated.
-Fully polybushed from front to back.
-H&R Ultra coilovers
-New front and rear brake discs & calipers.
-New brake lines and hoses from front to back.
Wheels/ tyres:
-Fully refurbished BBS RA’s , wrapped in brand new tyres.
Exterior:
-Finished in L94E Oak green metallic, still presents very well for its age, with only minor blemishes to be expected. The shell has NEVER been welded & still in factory condition. It has never been wax oiled or undersealed to hide the original finish. All wheel arches & floor pan remains in factory oak green finish, which is near enough impossible to find now.
Interior:
Factory Rainbow interior In Immaculate condition. Headlining needs replacing , if I get time I will have this done , if not, I will deduct the cost of a new headliner from the price (£185).

Folder full of receipts . Original service booklet present.
All receipts present for maintenance & build. I also have a gallery of photos to show all work carried out.
Over £15, 000+ has been poured into this car within the last few years & has done minimal miles since !
It is very difficult to find an original oak green 16V now , therefore is priced accordingly. The only non standard items are the OEM custom exhaust , schrick camshafts & the H&R suspension, all of which have improved the driving experience & performance. These are easily reversed and can be sold at around £2000-£2250!
If the asking price is not met, it will not be sold. Genuine reason for sale, the MK2 is dry stored in my lockup and is not getting any use. It's a real shame for it to be locked away when it should be enjoyed. Please, serious interest only.
