1994 BMW 318i GLX Touring AUTO E30
Selling this lovely original and unmolested 3 series tourer, with just 116k miles from new, 5 owners in 32yrs, very attractive teal green (laguna green), with grey velour interior… Has an advisory free MOT until May 26, starts first time, even in these sub zero temperatures, runs like a dream and is super reliable!
EXTERIOR:
The paintwork is great, really holding up well, despite a few very minor rust bubbles on the lower arches and boot lid, all of which are solid and not holes… Other than some general door dings, minor parking scuffs etc, it’s looking very good! Has 4 very good tyres, excellent alloys, just had the windows professionally tinted with the lightest privacy tint, also clear front indicator lenses with 4 very expensive amber LED bulbs adding and LED brake light bulbs, plus headlight bulbs for added vision at night. All inkeeping with the natural look of the car but making it more visible to others. It genuinely looks lovely and gets plenty of onlookers, because of its completely original look!
INTERIOR:
Inside is lovely… no rips or tears, dashboard does have a few standard cracks in it, but not terrible. Electric windows/ mirrors/ sunroof all work perfectly, heater is fantastic, headliner is ok but has been stapled at the very rear. Looks fine though and isn’t sagging.
The car had a £450 Bluetooth upgrade to keep the original stereo in place but to pair with handsfree phone operation, allowing music to be streamed… all whilst appearing completely original inside! New rubber mats, all the gauges work, really lovely car inside and out!
MECHANICS:
It fires up effortlessly and drives well through all 4 auto gears, no leaks, very well maintained and perfectly reliable on those longer journeys!
The former keeper, since 2020 to recently, set it up to use daily, so he made sure everything was up to speed, including cambelt and waterpump, oil changes and all wear and tear items kept on top of. It therefore runs really well on its original motor and running gear. Just had 4 new spark plugs fitted, so it fires up very quickly.
Lots of receipts and history, although a lot of recent work was done by the owner himself, so unreceipted, but this was his baby so he really looked after it.
SUMMARY:
A great example of a much desirable and appreciating retro classic! No engine swaps, no lowering or obvious alterations from its original set up… just an honest and useable example of this great car! It doesn’t win any speed records, but it is reliable and still does everything it did in 1994! As with any car of this age, there’s always room for improvement, but it can be used and enjoyed as is.
