Description
1960 Land Rover Series II, restored, 200Tdi conversion
This 1960 Series II has been restored by me over the course of a year, from the chassis up. If you have any questions about any part of the work, just ask, I’m happy to talk through what’s been done.
With a galvanised chassis and new galvanised bulkhead, this 200Tdi conversion has only just been completed. It has no leaks, pulls very well, and is fitted with the sought-after 11L engine, which is very tuneable and increasingly hard to find in this condition, with the original engine-driven cooling fan retained rather than removed during the conversion.
Engine mileage shows 89, 700. This is taken from the donor Defender; unfortunately no supporting documentation is available as the donor vehicle was scrapped.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ
Please note: this is a 65-year-old Land Rover Series II. While it benefits from a more modern engine, the running gear, drivetrain, brakes, steering and suspension remain period-correct.
The vehicle drives and has been used locally (around 20 miles), performing exactly as expected for a classic of this age. It is not suited to long-distance motorway use and should not be purchased with the expectation of a cross-country drive home.
As such, collection by trailer or transporter is advised.
This is an honest, high-quality classic, ideal for local use, shows, green-laning, or enthusiast ownership, rather than a modern daily driver.

As with any classic vehicle, ongoing maintenance should be expected. If being particularly fussy, the door tops could be changed, otherwise this is a very strong, well-presented example.
Another project means I sadly need to let it go.
