Registered on 7 January 2006, this Defender 90 TD5 presents as a well-maintained and correctly sorted example, offered for sale with an excellent history and long-term ownership. The car has been under current ownership since December 2013.
Originally supplied as a truck cab, the vehicle was converted to a soft top as part of a nut and bolt restoration, completed in 2014, with full invoices and documentation retained.
The gearbox was professionally rebuilt by Ashcroft in 2019, providing reassurance on one of the most important mechanical components. In addition, a new Exmoor Trim soft top was fitted in February 2024 at a cost of £2, 077 and has covered only 4, 500 miles since installation.
The vehicle benefits from LED lighting all around, including Nolden LED headlights, providing improved visibility and a more modern lighting performance. It is also fitted with an upgraded discovery transfer box, improving drivability at higher speeds and reducing engine revs on longer journeys.
