The BMW 525i SE E34
Here we have for sale my beloved E34 525i in cosmos black. Unfortunately due to my wife passing earlier this year and having 4 kids to look after I no longer have the time to enjoy the car and she’s just been parked up, I doubt I’ve even done 50 miles in her in the last year.
The is a genuine example of a classic bmw which has an amazing history and has been truly been taken care of. Being a 1996 model this is a very rare saloon as only the estates in the e34 were made after 1995 this is one of the last E34 Saloons to come of the production line (built July 95, see pics) and because it’s a late model e34 it benefits from the M50B25 engine producing 191hp and having the cast iron head rather than the older M20B25 engine which was a lot less powerful and economical.
The service history of this car is vast, it comes with all original folder and manuals and service history books etc, even has the car phone with SIM card and top up card! there is a separate folder for all the invoices etc. all services are main dealer/ specialist
the previous owner purchased the car in 2022 after it had been of the road since 2007 (keep in heated garage) the car had been recommissioned and put back on the road after that previous owner (who took brilliant care of the vehicle) had passed, he was ill for a long time and didn’t want to let the vehicle go but after his passing the family took the car to Millstream BMW Surrey to recommission to be able to sell the car. They took it here because this is where that gentleman purchased the car back in 1999 and had the services and all works Carried out on the car done here (see pics). Millstream are BMW specialist and well known in the south east. Like I said the car has great story/ history, I spent many months looking for the perfect e34 before I purchased this one back in early 2023.
As you can see from the pictures the car has been well and truly looked after but it’s a 30 year old car so don’t expect a showroom example! I’ve done a few subtle mods but all original parts will come with vehicle (wheels, lights steering wheel etc).
This car gets looks and compliments everywhere I go and it already is a BMW classic and they will be as expensive as the E30’s in a few years.
Things I’ve done in my ownership
- 18” Japan racing wheels staggered with wider rears (less than 50 miles on them, perfect condition)
- xenon clear headlights and indicators
- BMW M-Tec 2 genuine steering wheel
- Pioneer DAB radio, smartphone adaptable head unit
- Rockford Fosgate 6. 5” component speakers to front and rear
- Clear and red rear lights
- lowered 40mm all round with new sport shock absorbers and lowering springs
- new rear brake discs and pads all round as well as rear calipers.
- all auxiliary belts changed
- new handbrake cable
-front splitter (not fitted but will come with car, see pics)
Bad bits
- Speedo is temperamental
- bonnet has many dents (Xmas decs fell on it last year!) I have a replacement that will come with sale and is perfectly straight with no rust, see pics.
- passenger window has came off runner and needs adjusting (still fully shuts)
- paintwork on roof isn’t great but passable.
- few tears/ wears to interior but not massive/ noticeable.
- Usual scratches/ stone chips to paint work but still good for vehicle of this age
- rear bumper would benefit from a respray
All in all a great car with a few age related issues wear etc.
Like I said before car will come with original wheels 15” bbs multis with Dunlop tyres, all original lights (headlights, rear lights, repeaters and indicators), original steering wheel and suspension and additional a straight rust free Bonnet and also the fibre glass front splitter.
The car drives absolutely amazingly and handles like a dream even though I’ve lowered her and added the sports suspension the drive is still smooth and luxurious and drives better than many modern cars, the gear changes are seamless and smooth and she is a pleasure to drive especially in sports mode!
