Description
Original F4 750 'SPR' Monoposto, number 33/ 300, top condition
For those familiar with MV Agusta's historic marque, the value of an original F4 750 designed by Massimo Tamburini, which kicked off the marque's revival from Varese into the spotlight, is well known. The special edition offered here is a very rare 'SPR' Monoposto from 2003. It bears the number 33 of 300, is in original condition and presents both visually and technically impeccably. The low mileage speaks for itself, as the MV spent long periods in the hands of collectors, only being taken out for sunny pleasure rides.
Technically, the 'SPR' represents the final evolutionary stage of the 750s before the F4 1000 hit the market. MV's engineers revised the cylinder head, installed forged pistons and higher-performance camshafts, increased the compression to 13:1, adjusted the engine electronics accordingly, strengthened the clutch, and shortened the gear ratios. The result of this race-bred four-cylinder with radially arranged valves is 143 PS and an astonishing 13, 900 rpm maximum. The chassis also saw upgrades for the 'SPR'. Up front, a noble titanium-nitride-coated Marzocchi fork provides the spring and damping, while at the rear a Sachs race shock handles road irregularities. Both components are, of course, fully adjustable. Several components are also carbon-fibre. Another distinguishing feature is the white tachometer and, of course, the numbered plaque on the triple clamp. The 300 examples, which were available exclusively in matte black with silver wheels, were built between June and December 2003.
If you’d like to own a rare, original and razor-sharp piece of Italian motorcycle history for your garage (or living room), you should take a closer look at this SPR.
