Description
This WD/ CO OHV ex Bristol home guard bike , saw out WW2 with its original engine frame and gearbox intact, that’s very rare for a WD machine. It was returned to the factory at wars end , was reconditioned and sold as new for £70 +tax, pillion, panniers and chrome extra!……
Please read the photo of a page from its history file re provenance, all contract, census, engine, frame and acceptance markings original and authenticated…….
Fully restored again some years ago to civilian trim it has been kept for displays, gatherings and shows and remains in superb condition, it’s light agile and offers a lovely riding experience.
Easy to start it runs without issues, no noises, smoke or oil leaks!
Paintwork is immaculate , most fixings are stainless or brass. a fresh service, battery and oil change make this ready to be enjoyed.
A massive history file, service bulletins, old handbooks, spares list, manuals, magazine, receipts and mot’s.
Importantly, a history book by Jan Vandevelde of the WD register in the Netherlands detailing this bikes history and the marque generally with masses of information,, contract numbers, photos etc, a really comprehensive history is included.
A WD machine in this condition with its original numbers and some recorded history is a very rare find indeed,
I truly believe it is unique in this respect and very probably the best example you could possibly find.
