Description
The Porsche 911 Carrera 2. 7 MFI is undoubtedly one of the rarest and most special versions of the G-series 911.
Produced for only three years (1974 to 1976), just 1, 633 units were built in total, of which only 509 Coupés were manufactured in 1975. The example in question is one of this extremely limited group. It arrived in Portugal in 1981 and was serviced by Garagem Aurora. In 2012, the new owner commissioned an IRAN (“Inspect and Repair as Necessary”), including a new interior, while preserving the car’s originality.
Equal to the RS… but even rarer
Technically, the Carrera 2. 7 MFI is identical to the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera 2. 7 RS. It shares:
The iconic 2. 7-liter 210 hp engine with mechanical fuel injection (MFI)
Instant throttle response
A 7, 300 rpm redline
Type 915 5-speed gearbox
Approximate weight of 1, 075 kg
The RS was produced only in 1973, with a total of 1, 580 units built. It is estimated that fewer Carrera 2. 7 MFI cars exist today than RS models, as many MFI cars were converted into RS replicas or transformed into “hot rods,” taking advantage of their outstanding racing characteristics.
The main difference lies in the G-series bodywork, developed to comply with stricter safety regulations (most notably the impact bumpers), which would later be widely regarded as one of the most aesthetically balanced 911 generations.
Not to be confused with the U. S. version
This car should not be confused with the 2. 7 Carrera exported to the United States, which used CIS (Continuous Injection System), produced significantly less power, and was heavily restricted by emissions control equipment.
The Carrera 2. 7 MFI — also known as the “Euro Carrera” — represents the true successor to the RS and was the last road-going Porsche equipped with Mechanical Fuel Injection.
This specific example
This car stands out for:
Matching numbers
Original color: Salmon Metallic / W5 / 036
“Whale Tail” rear spoiler installed
Correct “Duck Tail” spoiler, already painted in the proper color and included with the car
Car cover included
Excellent provenance
Outstanding overall condition
More than just a classic, this is a fundamental piece of the history of Porsche — the last road car produced by the brand with Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI).
Once you see it — and especially hear it — you immediately understand this is not just another 911. It is a defining chapter in Porsche’s purest lineage, and a car that deserves to be preserved just as it has been until today.
