A rare and remarkable example of the 996-generation 911, in one of Porsche's most distinguished colours, with a factory specification that few can match.
Delivered new by AFN Porsche Reading in February 2002, this Carrera 2 was ordered to an extraordinary standard — over £21, 000 in factory options on top of the base price. Forest Green Metallic paintwork over black leather, with the complete Carbon Interior Package throughout, Sport Chassis, Bi-Xenon headlights, Bose sound system, heated electric seats with Porsche Crest embossed headrests, and 18" Carrera wheels with coloured crested centres. The combination of Forest Green with the carbon interior and black leather is believed to be unique.
The bodywork was professionally resprayed in the original Forest Green Metallic and has since been ceramic coated, presenting in excellent condition. The interior has been thoughtfully enhanced with an OEM Porsche Classic Cup steering wheel (GT3 RS specification), a GT3-style centre console delete with colour-coded Forest Green trim, and the 997-generation Turbo short shifter.
Three owners from new, with a history file of remarkable completeness — running from the original factory order form, deposit correspondence, and delivery note, through every service invoice, MOT certificate, and parts receipt from 2002 to the present day. A full Vehicle Provenance Report accompanies the car.
Mechanically, the car has been properly sorted. The IMS bearing has been retrofitted (LN Engineering), the entire M030 suspension has been rebuilt by Revolution Porsche in Leeds with new springs, top mounts, bump stops, and all control arms. The braking system has been overhauled with new lines, hoses, and rebuilt calipers finished in body-colour Forest Green. A Porsche Sports Exhaust was factory-fitted by Porsche Reading at just 21, 000 miles.
This is the rear-wheel-drive Carrera 2 — the lighter, more focused car in the 996 range, unburdened by the additional weight of the all-wheel-drive system. With the Sport Chassis, rebuilt suspension, short shifter, and sports exhaust, it drives with the precision the 996 was designed to deliver.
