Description
The car has been family owned since 1975, having been bought that year by my father when it was just 6 months old. It has been well maintained throughout it's life using only Rolls Royce specialists. As my father got older, who by the way has been a RREC member for more than 50 years, the car hasn't been used that much in recent years. Recent expenditure on the car has been a new battery, a set of HT leads and a new set of plugs. As a result the engine is running very smoothly with no worrying ticking noises that a lot of these cars of this age have with worn hydraulic tappets or noisy brake pumps. The car drives and stops as it should.
The interior leather is all original , and still soft and supple. The woodwork as well is in fine condition with only a few blemishes at the edges where the varnish is starting to lift.
The wilton interior carpets are all in as new condition, along with the boot carpet, which has no nasty stains or holes. In the boot the original jack and associated tools are hung in the correct manner, including the original small tool kit , which is complete. You will note there is also a Sony disc cassette holding 10 CD's in the boot. There is also the original 8 track stereo unit, which has yet to be checked for operational use. I can also include a briefcase full of 8 track cassettes varying from classical tunes such as Verdi to more conventional music such as Burt Bacharach. The body colour is Larch green which is quite rare, with an everflex roof , which was very de riguer for the time. The bodywork could do with a little attention, with some corrosion to the top of the doors, along with some fading of paintwork to the front offside wing. There is also a dent with slight corrosion below the rear bumper on the right corner, which I think was caused by my father reversing into a low wall.
