BMW R25/ 3 245cc 1955
The bike was renovated in 2010, including a full engine overhaul and since that time has covered only 500 miles. There is a folder full of paperwork to support this.
The bike was produced on 12th July 1955 and BMW records show that it was delivered to the UK on 12th March 1956. I have this confirmed in writing from both BMW UK and The Society of Automotive Historians in Britain. Its not entirely clear if the bike was registered in Germany prior to being brought to the UK in 1956.
I purchased the bike in January 2016 and have used it sparingly over the summer for the last 10 yearsThe restorer replaced the old 6 volt electrical system and the bike now benefits from a very expensive "Powerdynamo" 12 volt system. The bike starts and rides very well and is great for pootling around the lanes or attending local classic car & motorcycle events.
Without doubt one of the prettiest small capacity bikes of its generation and the model that help BMW back in to motorcycle manufacture after WW2
