Description
One owner from new VFR800FI-y including full luggage, top box and side panniers.
Considered by many to be the pinnacle of the VFR800 lineage with electronic fuel injection and the straight cut gear wheel driven cam-shafts. Later models moved to the chain drive cams and over complicated VTECH system. Still a fanastic bike for general riding and commuting but still comes alive and starts to sing above 5K rpm with an 11, 800 red line.
Includes Honda security system fitted (HISS) hooked up to dealer fitted Meta 351 alarm. Original invoices for the bike and alarm included. Combined braking system for anti-dive.
Extras fitted include
- Scott oiler - with reservoir hidden under the seat.
- Front and rear bullet camera fitted, including GPS sensor
- Oxford trickle charger to maintain battery levels
- Non-Fango rack and luggage - large top box big enough to swallow 2 helmets
The bike is in fair to reasonable condition for it's age, it has been serviced regularly and well maintained as it's been used as a daily commute and Blood Bike Service (hence the UN3373 Hazardous chemical stickers on the side panniers). Kept in dry storage overnight in a metal shed but lives alongside a couple of push bikes so some light scratches on the lefthand side upper fairing - see photos. Showing it's age a little now with exposed aluminium furring up, front forks for example.
MOT'd just before Christmas so current MOT until the end of October 2026, single advisory for the front tyre being close to the limit so will need replacing at some point. Recent work includes new chain and sprockets, the rear cush drive was replaced around 20K mileage mark. Otherwise just ultra reliable and just oil, filter and plug changes. Reluctant sale, bought as new from Bill Heads in Preston in a time referred to us as BC - before children!! I needed something ultra reliable but fun and this would be the last time I had any spare money. Partly why the low mileage as the kids curtailed any long touring trips but now my advancing years means I struggle with the "Sports" positioning on the bike, can't get my leg over and need something a little more comfortable to ride.
