Description You can see from the photos that this bike is in good shape and very original having had some restoration including tank repainted to original colour. Wheels have good Hubs, Competition flanged steel rims and Spokes. Tyres are new and correct size and type. Fork stanchions are good (Ceriani) and work smoothly. Fibreglass mudguards are original and in good shape. Engine is in good condition as has little use. and the gearbox selects all gears. Original importer believed bike to have competed in the 1968 ISDT possibly even with the Italian team but no proof exists. Engine has the seperate points modification thought to bear this out. I have have owned this bike for many years and now realise with deteriorating health I will never get around to using it. Having sat for a while It will need recommisioningThis was the culmination of Gilera's development of 4 stroke ISDT bikes from the fifties to the end of the sixties. They made only 1300 of these for sale to private riders over two years and they are replicas of the bikes ridden by the Italian team in the 1968 ISDT. The bike has the usual ISDT features of QD wheels, location for air bottle (not supplied). light weight (102kg) and rugged construction.
