Description
I’m reluctantly selling my traveller Horace. Manufactured in 1961, the bodywork including the underside is generally in very good condition with only minimal defects and only a small rust bubble on the passenger door. The chrome work is bright with some patina. The light blue interior is clean with seats, carpets and door cards all in very good original condition with no rips or tears.
I purchased the car from Charles Ware 10 years ago and have since spent in excess of £12000 on renovations including new clutch and radiator, underbody welding repairs, two new wings and full anti rust treatment. The internal floor pan and door panels have had sound deadening applied. The 1098cc engine has had an out of body rebuild and runs and pulls sweetly on unleaded petrol. The 4 speed gearbox is in good order with no knocks or whine and the woodwork is completely sound and treated annually with Sikkens..
Throughout Horace benefits from many extras including alternator, heated front and rear windows, front fog lights, hazard warning indicators, clock, radio, factory metal sun shade ( not fitted), stainless steel exhaust and front and rear inertia seat belts. There also comes with him a full outdoor protection cover and several Traveller books and manuals and assorted spares.
Everything on Horace works and operates as it should and overall is a fine example of a 65 year old honest and reliable car which attracts many admirers. Minors are the absolute perfect classic car and are easy to carry out basic repairs on with spares that are easily obtainable and cheap. They are very reliable and economical to run and have a marvellous, informative and friendly support through the Morris Minors Owners Club.
A pleasure to own and will always attract many admiring glances
