Description
A professionally built custom Triumph Scrambler 865 by renowned UK builder Down & Out. Built from new and finished to an exceptional standard, this is a striking, usable custom that blends classic styling with modern reliability.
Based on the highly desirable air-cooled 865cc Triumph Scrambler, this bike has been transformed into a clean, understated tracker/ scrambler build with a strong visual presence and excellent attention to detail throughout.
The bike has seen very little use since build and remains in excellent condition.
Key features include:
• Custom matte sand paintwork with vintage Triumph branding
• Diamond stitched brown leather seat
• Wrapped exhaust headers with custom exhaust system
• Blacked-out engine and components
• Headlight grille and fork gaiters
• Custom front and rear fenders
• Upgraded rear suspension
• Chunky off-road tyres
• Minimal rear end with custom lighting and side-mounted plate
The bike starts, runs and rides exactly as it should and draws attention wherever it goes.
This is not a home build but a professionally executed Down & Out custom, offering a rare opportunity to own a high-quality bespoke motorcycle without the cost or wait of commissioning one. I bought this bike because I wanted something completely different to the standard Triumph Scrambler – something with real character and presence. The Down & Out build stood out immediately for its quality and attention to detail, and it hasn’t disappointed.
What makes this bike special is how well balanced the build is. It has that classic, understated look with the matte sand finish and vintage Triumph branding, combined with modern touches like the upgraded suspension and clean minimal rear end. It’s not overdone – everything works together and feels like it could have come from the factory this way.
The 865 engine is a big part of the appeal – smooth, torquey and easy to ride, but with plenty of character. Paired with the custom exhaust it sounds exactly how you’d want a bike like this to sound.
It’s a bike that gets attention everywhere it goes, whether parked up or out riding, but it’s also genuinely usable and comfortable. I’ve only used it a handful of times, which is why it remains in such excellent condition.
My favourite thing about it is simply how complete it feels – it’s not just a modified bike, it’s a properly finished custom build by a well-known UK builder.
It’s been a great bike to own, but it’s just not getting the use it deserves.
