For sale is my 2006 Porsche Boxster 987 2. 7 in Basalt Black over a Stone Grey interior and grey hood. It has covered only 54. 5k miles and is MOT’d until Feb 2027 with no advisories.
It has a very high specification from factory, including:
- Sport Package, which includes the 6-speed gearbox and PASM.
- Hardback sport seats
- Sport steering wheel
- Heated seats
- Park Assist
- 19 inch Turbo alloys
- Cruise control
- Short-shift gearbox
- Extended leather
- Gear lever and handbrake finished in aluminium.
- Centre console finished in exterior colour.
- Trim strip painted in exterior colour.
- Porsche crest on centre storage lid.
I have had extensive work done to this car in my ownership, including:
- Brake discs, pads and wear sensors all round.
- Both window regulators.
- Rear coil springs replaced.
- Handbrake shoes and springs replaced.
- Coolant crossover pipes replaced in Feb 2026.
- Nearside front coffin arm and tuning fork replaced.
- Front drop links replaced.
Minor service carried out in June 2023 at 48, 238 miles.
Major service in Feb 2026 at 54, 123 miles, including oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, drive belt checked (not required), spark plugs and coil packs recommended so will be replaced before sale.
The car was off the road for much of the time between these two most recent services due to living abroad. In total, the service book has 12 stamps. All maintenance in my ownership has been carried out at independent Porsche specialists.
The car is fitted with Uniroyal Rainsport 5s all round with lots of life left in them, although the wheels could do with a refurb.
Full book pack present, along with a reasonable collection of invoices and MOT certificates. 2 keys are also present as well as a fitted outdoor cover.
Great opportunity to get a high spec, low mileage Boxster before summer with a full MOT and without the issues that accompany the bigger engine cars. The car drives excellently and the short-shift gearbox adds a nice weight to the gear change.
Based in Ayr, Scotland. I have owned this car since January 2024, but have only done about 2000 miles in it. The car has 7 previous keepers and is HPI clear.
The 2. 7 is the sweet spot for 987 generation Porsches, with none of the worries of bore score of the bigger engines. This particular example benefits from the 6 speed manual from the ‘S’ models, which is a rare option. It also has an uncommon black over grey interior and hood colour combination.
One of the biggest problems with these particular cars as they push 20 years old is the front coolant ‘crossover’ pipes, which degrade and eventually leak as they did with mine. I had these replaced in February 2026.
The car drives and sounds great, perfect for roof-down summer drives.
