Paint on the car lets it down, it has surface rust on the body panels but is in great condition underneath. The doors could do with some small patches.
Overall this is a great useable classic daily driver for a great priceThe previous owner carried out the majority of the mechanical refresh of this car, as it was off the road from around 2007-2024, I had bought it after it passed its first MOT
In my ownership of the past year I have changed the timing belt, idler pulley and water pump. New clutch, release bearing and clutch cable. New coolant hoses & hard coolant pipe. Rebuild the Pierburg 2E2 carb with the gasket kits, cleaned in my ultrasonic bath and set up following the correct Peirburg guide. The wax stat may need replacing in the future as they tend to fail over time.
Both rear wheel bearings have been replaced, with both new front wheel bearings included should they need replaced in the future.
Both inner and outer CV joints on drivers side have been replaced, again with replacement passenger side inner and outer CV joints included with the sale
A complete ignition service has been carried out with Beru leads, distributor cap and rotor arm, a new NGK coil (car came with original coil from 1986, it is in a box and included with the spares with the car)
I use this car as a summer daily, and have frequently taken it on 400 mile return journeys
