I am selling my 1973 Jensen Healey MK1, 2 seat convertible, which has undergone a total 'nuts & bolts' restoration, this being completed in 2025. It has covered just 44k miles from new & just less than 1, 000 miles since the restoration. The 2 litre 16v Lotus 907 engine has been rebuilt. The car drives & handles as well as, if not better than when it left the factory. The work carried out is too extensive to list here but includes:
Bodywork:
The bodywork is now in excellent, rust free condition. 2 new sills were fitted (genuine), as well as rear deck repair panels.
New rear valance (genuine)
The floor needed just one small piece of metal welded in under the drivers seat.
The underneath was Ziebarted to protect it from new & this rust proof coating is still in excellent condition so has been left intact.
All bright work has either been re-chromed (chrome work) or professionally re-polished (stainless steel).
A professional re-spray inside & out in original Jensen Red. Everything including the interior, sub frame, rear axle, fittings & engine were removed before carrying out the re-spray.
Wheels have been laser diamond cut & re painted, brand new period style tyres are fitted.
The headlights have been replaced with quality fan cooled LED units, the colour temperature of which matches that of the 'original warm' sealed beam units.
There is a small crack in the upper left passenger side of the windscreen, this wont get any larger
The vinyls hood has a couple of small tears which ahve been patched but is otherwise in serviceable condition
Engine:
The powerful Lotus 907 2 litre OHC 16V engine has been rebuilt, with work & parts including:
MK2 engine block (rubber lip rear crank seal)
New liners, piston & oil control rings
Crankshaft polished
New (STD) crankshaft bearings & thrust washers
Valves & seats re-cut
New valve springs, seats & retainers
Head & deck skimmed lightly
Rebuilt water pump

Seat frames & runners blasted & powder coated black
New/ refurbished door cards fitted with re-chromed bright work
New Full interior carpet
Re-furbished MK2 centre console (I have retained the original if you would like it)
All dial & guage lights replaced with LED bulbs
New heater blower motor
New blower resistor unit
Original 1973 radio/ cassette payers & original speakers
New exterior rubber window scrapers
All new rubber seals throughout the car
Gearbox:
Original Chrysler 4 speed gerbox. No work done to this as it was in full working order
Suspension/ running gear etc:
All parts removed, dimantled, blasted & re-painted
New bushes throughout

New track rod ends
New upper/ lower ball joints

New bolts/ nuts throughout
Full rear polybush system
MOT The car is booked in for an MOT on the 13th April so will come with 12 months MOT from that date
V5C is present & in my name. It has had one previous owner!

Everything on the car works as it should including all locks, bonnet catch, heater, all guages & displays etc & it comes with 2 sets of spare keys. It is ready to drive & have fun in straight away or to take along & exhibit at a car show.
