Description

I’m selling my pride and joy and show car, MK4 1. 8T Golf GTI Anniversary Edition (Black, Petrol) with a heavy heart that I’ve owned for 15 years since 2011, with 4 previous owners since the car registered in 2002. A great chance to grab a classic. Car has mostly been a weekend toy for most of its life due to me using a work van.
It was brought fully unmodifed and all work carried out on the car has been since I’ve owned it and professionally carried out and in as tastyfully as possible I believe, there has been ALOT of money spent on this car over the years but for the last 3 years due to work, baby and house extension sadly it’s barely being driven and it’s a shame to see it sat around under a cover, so I’d love somebody else to carry on the project and enjoy it and it’s a massive starting point to carry on with a bit of TLC throughout due to age and wear and tear.
There’s so much work that’s been done over the years I shall try to list all that I can remember. As far as the interior goes, it’s completely standard still apart from a modified air vent to house the airlift controller for airide, everything else is completely orginal and standard.
As for the age of a 24 years old car, the interior is a good standard, the rear is immaculate and barely been used in my ownership and the front has wear on driver seat lumber support and a small wear patch at bottom of back support. Passenger seat is good condition with no wear (all would benefit from a professional valet) Door card material trim has slightly come loose (easily replaced/ fixed) an general wear on plastics, steering wheel and gearstick as you’d imagine from age of car and I don’t currently have a head unit for the car as seen in picture. But I’d say the interior is great for age and soon to be a classic with a good valet to bring it back to life.

Modifications

- Artec 3 Piece Fully Refurbished and rebuilt wheels with new bolts, barrels and inners (less the 100 miles) worth £2500-3000 alone which I’ve owned for over 13 years.
- Custom bad boy bonnet & working vents
- Custom front bumper
- Custom wider rear wings
- Custom SRS front fenders
- Smoothed rear boot lid with electric boot popper
- Tinted rear lights
- Tinted front lights
- Custom aerial
- Airlift Suspension with custom boot build and controller housing (OCD rear bags and Perfomance Front Struts)
- Stage 2 engine modifications/ Remap
- Sports Exhaust
- Forge Front Mount Intercooler
- Forge DV
- Silicone engine piping
- Forced Induction Kit
- Updated bigger grooved discs front and back with updated brake pads.
- Engine drop plates
- Rear Camber plates IDF
- Poly bushes throughout
- Probably alone more smaller modifications throughout to adapt from the airide (noticed chassis etc)

I’ve probably missed a few bits from this list as I’ve steadily done the modifications over the last decade. I have service history and the car has been throughly looked after and serviced and never missed a beat and only ever had a new gearbox about 12 years ago, the car has been a weekend toy of mine and only done about 500-1000 a year for last 5 years.
Apart from that the engine has been completely solid and never had any issues and turbo in great condition and engine runs great.
The bodywork of the car is good, but for the age of the car there’s places that shows sign of age, a few scuffs and rust patches due to age (see pictures) and a few problems with VW factory paint if you know your history with these models, again a professional detail would bring it fully back to life.
Somebody willing to spend a little getting the bodywork back to 100% this would be an absolute headturner as it already is!
I don’t particularly want to sell my pride and joy and considered putting it in a garage but it needs to be driven. It’s fast and super responsive and handles great and always gets lots of compliments.
The car has MOT till December 2026 but currently off the road with not tax and won’t be driven until test drives.
I’d love to sell to an enthusiast to carry on my vision as can’t bring myself to strip and sell for parts. The potential to break and sell for parts is great here I just don’t have the time or the heart to do it.
The number plate isn’t included in the sale and orginal plate will be put on completion of the sale. As you can imagine it’s an 52 plate as it’s an anniversary model and the reg only came from tha year.
See in pictures that it looks absolute fantastic in its prime with professional photoshoots.
No silly offers please and I’m in no rush to sell. £7999onoI’m selling my pride and joy and show car, MK4 1. 8T Golf GTI Anniversary Edition (Black, Petrol) with a heavy heart that I’ve owned for 15 years since 2011, with 4 previous owners since the car registered in 2002.
