Description
The vehicle is an ex-US Army 1/ 4 ton utility vehicle built in 1945 and sold by US Army from stocks at Fort Dix. The vehicle has been retained in its near original configuration and has a 6 volt electrical system.
The vehicle is kept under cover and maintained but has not been used regularly for the last two years. Very little work done to it except for the addition of a rear bustle and change of seat cushions.
The vehicle was a 3 tone sand/ beige colour when it arrived in the UK and I had it professionally returned to an authentic olive drab colour.
The vehicle is tax and MoT exempt but has no electric indicators or wipers.
There is a post war trailer that comes with the jeepThe previous owner informed me the vehicle was surplus to US Army requirements at the end of WW2 and sold to a private buyer. It remained in the USA until February 2016.
I purchased it in September 2016.
I have exhibited the jeep at reenactment displays since 2017. Always a crowd pleaser. I have driven it to Normandy on 3 occasions with little to no problems
It is time to pass the old girl on to someone who will enjoy the experience and look after her.
