Description
A 1961 Ducati 175 Turismo Super Sport (OHC Bevel)
This motorcycle formed part of my late father’s private collection of classic Italian bikes. He acquired the machine as a project and restored it himself.
The motorcycle is fitted with a period-style racing fuel tank with a central retaining strap, along with an aftermarket seat. These give the bike a distinctive 1960s café racer appearance, although it is not to original factory specification.
Frame and engine numbers are closely matched (51589 / 51591), consistent with original factory pairing.
The frame and tank were hand painted, and to the best of my knowledge the wheels are original and have been professionally rebuilt.
The engine has not been started since the restoration, as the bike was displayed indoors, so it will require recommissioning before use.
Key features:
• 175cc bevel-drive OHC single-cylinder engine
• 4-speed gearbox
• Restored by previous owner (my father)
• Period-style racing fuel tank
• Aftermarket café-style seat
• Dry stored and well presented
This is a great opportunity to acquire a classic Ducati bevel-drive single with real character. While not a concours-original example, it would make an ideal machine for an enthusiast who appreciates classic Italian engineering and period café racer styling.
