This is a very solid car and was prepared in 2014-2015 by Stein Johnsen into a long-distance rally car for extreme road and high temperature conditions at high speeds.

The car was ordered by a wealthy Texan racing-driver who wanted to win the 2016 P2P and spent over 100K to build this car. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw his subscription due to circumstances. Stein would have been his navigator and mechanic, and this crew would go for the Golden Ticket overall!

The Volvo tuner ‘Stein Johnsen’ has built 25 Volvo rally cars for all kind of rally drivers, and this is number 26 and his final one. Stein has built all kinds of Amazon, 142’s and PVs for regularity rally and FIA-rallying. Today, original ‘Stein Johnsen rally cars’ very are sought after cars by the connoisseurs.

Stein has used all his knowledge to build the ULTIMATE rally car before he retired building rally cars 10 years ago, and this beautiful red Amazon is the result! This car has all tricks he learned from the Volvo ‘Works’ drivers like Tom Trana and Joginder Singh.

This car was built and tested in Costa Rica to simulate warm conditions and extreme rugged roads for the P2P rally 2016. Stein always painted his ‘own’ used rally cars ‘Ferrari Roso’, what looks great on this Amazon.

The result is probably the best build rally-Amazon ever! Ready for Peking to Paris 2028, ready for the East African Safari, the RAC rally or any other endurance rally with bad roads, extreme conditions and high speeding.

The car is not only strong and reliable but very competitive with its 149 bhp and 205Nm. The engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension and rear axle are built for durability, ‘to finish first, first you must finish’. The B20 engine is a stage-1 tuned, 1986cc as homologated.

There are many pictures that prove all ‘Works’ preparations. Specialists will recognize all special strengthened parts and clever tricks/ solutions.

Since the building process the car was stored into Steins own collection for almost 10 years and now for sale with only 2. 000 km test kilometres. The Amazon runs perfectly and is ready to rock and roll. The car still has the original 1968 Swedish registration.
