There were 118, 579 Cadillacs produced in 1955, with only 3, 950 of those being Eldorado convertibles.
There's no better example of GM's styling and engineering prowess than the 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible - drive one like this particular example and you will see why - its hard to believe that this car was built over 70 years ago! In 1955 the Cadillac Eldorado 2 Door Convertible with the massive grille and bullet noses with distinct shark fins, unique to the Eldorado that year, were one of the highest priced cars of their day - and with good reason - fifties excess was reaching its peak with Cadillac boasting bigger cars with more chrome and larger fins than ever before! These cars bristled with the latest in modern appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market with a recession making owning one only for the very privileged elite with only some 3, 950 Eldorado convertibles built in 1955!
This particular example has obviously always been garaged and well maintained. The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely original, solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents - obviously an always cherished 'Garage Queen' since new if there ever was one. The car has should be considered to be an older restored example with many seemingly all original options showing only very minimal patina including its original Blue leather interior. It has an obviously older but professional and very striking repaint in its original factory 'Bahama Blue' color paint and the car boasts a perfectly functional and presentable power top and the car boasts its original factory parade boot.
The 'Power Pack' 2 x 4 BBL Rochester 4GD Carburetors 331 CID 270 HP V8 engine with its matching # stamped on the front side of the crankcase above the water pump is original to the car and matches the engine tag on the door and is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money!
