Description
Advertising this on behalf of my best friend whom I am storing the vehicle for.
1959 series 2. 2. 25 petrol with all the original bits.
I have owned this for 10 years renewing it and servicing it as needed or I fancy. It’s only getting used to drive from my house and go through the woods feeding pheasants so, sadly it’s time for it to go.
In my ownership it’s had/ it’s got:
Full engine rebuild,
ACR ported head and SU carb conversion. Tuned and runs like a sewing machine.
Electronic ignition,
Freewheeling front hubs
Parabolic springs all round
New brake shoes and lines where needed.
Professionally replaced rear cross member. The chassis is very good with original front dumb irons and visible serial number.
New clutch kit.
Arb air compressor (mounted in engine bay)
Smiths heater, with new Clayton core, original twist knob it’s working and regulating fan speed.
Professionally Rebuilt windscreen wiper motors.
Elephant Hyde Exmoor trim seats, canvas and bikini top included.
Exmoor trim middle arm rest with cab radio hidden inside cubby box.
Farmers hi-lift jack mounted on rear.
Lots more I can’t even remember doing now.
It has all the original series 2 specific twist style vent knobs, dials, lever knobs, horn (working) and wired ammeter that works as they should.
It also has a custom made bolt in winch basket under the front valance but no winch present.
Fairlead mounted through bumper.
As always the wiring does work but could do with a tidy up. The door tops are original from what I believe, they do have some rot around the bottom as pictured but could be repaired rather than replaced.
I’ve made some great friends playing with this but it’s now time for someone else to enjoy it.
And genuinely sorry to see it go, but it’s not being used to its full potential.
Located just north of Buckingham MK18. Exceedingly original condition with genuine “working clothes” patina.
Great condition chassis with original front dumb irons and visible original chassis number.
All the “right bits” for a series 2, rather than later 2a. With a few modern upgrades for comfort.
