Description
NOTE: NOW REDUCED TO £4000. This classic big Ford was imported from South of France in 2017 having been in the funeral trade since new; coachwork is by the German firm Pollman but does feature the 'European' trend of having roof and side rails for flowers. Like most hearses from over there, there is no deck inside, and side windows are perspex.
The NOVA was sorted followed by some recommissioning including full service, new tyres, half-exhaust system and new brake components and the hearse fully registered in 2020; in fact it was then on the road for a year having attended some shows but then parked up (too many projects).
As you can see in the pictures, this Granny is absolutely mint underneath having never been welded; in fact aside the bits mentioned, she is completely ORIGINAL in everyway - inside, underside and bodily; it still has some of its funeral director wording on the door!
Having investigated more, the 2. 3 Cologne engine has little compression; it turns over but not firing so she is currently being sold as a non-runner and will need trailering away.
In fact, it simply requires some TLC to make her pretty again. There are age-related dings (see pics), bubbling/ rot ( lower tailgate) and scratches with the worst areas being the A-pillars (holed but still solid) and a small rusty hole near the rear tailgate/ seal which lets in water. A new seal is required obviously and ideally some tailgate rams as current ones are weak so it drops down half way (and the metal inner trim panel does not help!) but otherwise she is solid and stunning.
The pictures say it all really; it is far to good to break or race (but its up to you of course) and is one of the most solid Granny hearses we have come across... we used to run the Classic Hearse Register and at one time owned the biggest collection of private-owned hearses in the UK but loss of unit forces sale and I cannot continue with the restoration of my Mk1 limousine until this sells :(
Please note: We know our beans, we know what they are worth so no silly questions or low offers please; they won't be answered. Thanks
