Description
I’ve absolutely adored this car from start to finish and I’m genuinely gutted to be looking to sell it, but unfortunately with my new job requiring extensive travel, this gas gobbling 2. 3 litre turbocharged beast will not do the mpg I require. (Smiles per gallon don’t cut it anymore)
I bought this car from an old chap who’d had it dry stored for a year or two. He wasn’t using it anymore and wanted it to go to a loving home to be restored. We put a new MOT on it last September so it would need a new one towards the end of this year, which it should sail through.
It’s got reems and reems of service history and receipts and has been refurbished whilst in my ownership. It’s lived on premium fuel, regular cleans and services since I’ve had it and has lived quite a spoiled life in that time!
No lights on the dash, pulls like an absolute train and has started first time every single time I’ve turned the key.
I’ve been using this car as a daily driver for a 6-8 minute commute 3x a week. It has completed round trips to Cheltenham and to Scotland in my ownership too and didn’t skip a beat.
The interior is also a beautiful place to be. Immaculate from top to bottom (other than the sunroof liner sagging slightly).
Works done and optional extras:
New Radiator
New intercooler
New set of tires
Power steering pump
Major service
Minor service
Engine service
Various auxiliary belts
New battery
Upgraded speakers
Boot gas struts
Ceramic coating
Power windows
Power mirrors
Heated mirrors
Heated front seats
Sunroof
Things to note:
- TINY bit of rust bubbling on the passenger door - won’t find a drop of structural corrosion on this car elsewhere.
- Paint has a few blemishes dotted around - still in exceptional quality for the age.
- Sunroof is non functional but sealed.
- Sunroof headlining drooping.
- 1-2 oil leaks dotted around
- Seems to be a minor power steering leak
A genuinely clean example in the nicest colour of the bunch. A real sleeper estate which I’m heartbroken to be letting go of, but I need something a little better as far as MPG goes in my new role.
Get in touch! The 850 T5 GLT Estate is getting incredibly rare to find these days. It really is like stepping into a time warp when you’re in that front seat.
The green is, in my opinion, the nicest colour too and it really does pop even 30 years later.
This is genuinely a car you’ve got to come and see - there can’t be many of these in this condition left on the road today.
I also have a full leather Volvo 850 interior to install, which will come with the car (but I like the retro feel of the current seats!)
