Description
2008 Mercedes-Benz SL350 (R230 Facelift) – Rare ‘Sport’ Spec - 2 Owners from new
The Ultimate "Sweet Spot" SL
For the discerning SL enthusiast, the 2008–2010 facelift is widely considered the pinnacle of the R230 generation. This "New Generation" model introduced the sharper "twin-torch" headlamps and the significantly improved 311bhp 3. 5L V6.
Unlike the earlier models, this engine is lighter, more rev-happy, and avoids the complex maintenance of the V8's ABC hydraulic suspension, making it the most reliable way to enjoy high-end SL motoring.
Vehicle Overview:
Owners: Only 2 careful owners from new (1st owner was a Doctor).
Provenance: Full Mercedes-Benz Main Dealer or MB Specialist history.
Preservation: For the past 10 years this has been my dedicated summer car, garaged on SORN in dry, warm conditions between November and April. It has rarely been driven in the wet and has never seen a salted winter road.
Underframe Condition: Maintained to an exacting standard. My service technician frequently comments on the exceptional condition of the car, noting it is essentially "as new" underneath.
The "Sport" Package & Rare Factory Options:
Finished in classic Iridium Silver, this SL features the perfect blend of performance aesthetics and cabin luxury:
Sport Package: 19" AMG 5-spoke alloys, lowered/ stiffened sports suspension, and the 7G-Tronic Sport transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters.
Carbon Fibre Interior Trim: A very rare and expensive upgrade that completely modernises the cabin, replacing the dated wood trim found in most examples.
Airscarf: The essential UK convertible option—neck-level heating that extends the "top-down" season through the whole year.
Media Link: Full connectivity for your devices, integrated into the COMAND system.
Navigation: Maps updated by Mercedes in 2016
Aesthetics: Darkened headlamp housings and silver-painted calipers that define the facelift Sport look.
Condition:
Beautiful Iridium silver paintwork accentuates the R230’s iconic silhouette, while the interior remains tight and pristine.
This is not the usual high-owner, high-mileage SL; it is a cherished example that has been protected from the British elements.
This car represents the perfect opportunity to own the last of the classic-proportioned SLs in a specification that is almost impossible to find on the used market today.
The Private Plate will be removed before sale
