The 4/ 4 at Morgan since 1936 stands for 4 cylinders and four wheels – a necessary distinction, as up to then only three-wheelers were built.
The design of our Morgan comes from the 1950s and has largely remained unchanged since then.
The rugged English Morgan roadsters enjoyed enormous popularity at the time our vehicle was built, which led to waiting times of a year or more.
Our Morgan is quite a rare four-seater and is therefore suitable for family use or for trips with two people with relatively lots of luggage space.
Our vehicle was fairly extensively restored in England in the 1990s and apparently upgraded with a new ash wood frame and a new aluminium body, becoming lightweight.
It was also given an attractive blue-silver two-tone paintwork.
In 1999 it was imported to Germany and was in the same ownership for 20 years.
The Morgan has the Ford Kent engine in the Competition variant with 85 hp, two-carburettor setup, branch manifolds and crossflow cylinder head (as used in the Lotus Seven), which gives the car very engaging performance.
The cylinder head was overhauled about 2, 000 kilometres ago in Germany.
It wears 195 tyres and the suspension at the rear axle was upgraded with Koni shock absorbers.
The Morgan is sold complete with two persennings, four Steckscheiben, the roadster cover and a chromed luggage rack – all fittings are in good condition.
The installed blower heater proves to be very effective.
The car has fresh MOT.
There are many supporting documents – including from the time in the UK.
The whole vehicle presents itself in a very nice condition.
