Description
1973 Kawasaki Z1A
Frame No. ZIF 22591
Engine No. ZIE 22710
Mileage 17492 (May change depending on the weather)
Originally supplied within the USA and has been registered as a historic vehicle in the UK since May 2018, this bike has frame and engine numbers that are within the range of a Z1A manufactured on the 29th August 1973 which is confirmed in a letter from Kawasaki UK (this is included in the documents file that will come with the bike).
This bike received an extensive partial restoration in 2018 by Classic Bikes of Shropshire (all work carried out is detailed in the documents file) as a result she still retains a fabulously original patina and i have meticulously maintained this bike since purchasing her from Classic Bikes in August 2018.
During my ownership i have replaced, where possible, any pattern parts with NOS items, in addition she now runs on Dyna S Electronic Ignition with new ignition coils and combined rectifier/ regulator.
The bike starts on first/ second press of the electric starter and had a new sealed maintenance free battery fitted in May 2026, she runs beautifully and is a joy to ride. I have covered 5793 miles during my ownership and the bike has been serviced annually over the last eight years.
The bike will come with all the spares/ parts i have accumulated over the years, an owners handbook, Haines manual and extensive history file detailing all the work completed by Classic Bikes in 2018 and everything carried out since. The mileage is consistent with the condition and originality of the bike, she has original dated rims (rebuilt by Classic Bikes), original same dated discs ( converted to to twin discs by Classic Bikes), original factory painted frame in good condition and the original, albeit repainted, tank, side panels and tail piece (repainted by Sean Dewis).
The only negatives (in my opinion) are that the RHS lower silencer (the full system is a pattern version supplied by 'Z' Power) has some small dents low down which are below the eyeline and barely noticeable and the swing arm could do with repainting at some stage but is not pressing.
