Excellent service history
Low mileage Bridgestone Potenza Sports all round.
PolybushedBoot floor fixed/ reinforced.
No hardtop but has fitting kit. This car has been very well looked after with a comprehensive history of servicing, most recently by myself.
It's never missed a beat in the last 6 years with multiple cross Europe trips.
It's always been kept garaged and at every MOT the testers remark on how good it is underneath. The mechanic who looked at it most recently is a bit of a BMW fan and knows E36's very well and he's amazed I'm selling it on as it's in such good condition.
He took the underside photos, showing it's got no leaks or weeps anywhere, very very, very little rust, the exhaust is immaculate etc. (photos taken 3rd week of May), rock solid on the cooling system etc.
I bought the car in 2020 (between lockdowns) and immediately took it to Cracknells Garage to have the common boot floor issue welded up (- details above) and an awesome job they made of it, can't recommend them highly enough.
I've fully overhauled the Vanos with all the correct Viton seals and bolts and it's been running perfectly for the last 5000 miles since. In hindsight it didn't need doing, as it was giving none of the VANOS rattle, I was just being precious!
At the same time I completed an Inspection 2 against the car, including checking over and documenting the valve shim clearances and I think only a couple were out which were obviously replaced.
Diff oil, transmission oil, BMW coolant, brake fluid all changed as well as Fuchs Titan Race Pro S oil on the regular.
I've installed the replacement gear shifter kit and a new giubo joint so the drivetrain feels really tight.
As mentioned, it's got a pretty much brand new, pocketed roof.
I've a few spares to go with the sale like a faster steering rack and tie rods, brake pads all round and caliper overhaul kits (didn't need them in the end), braided clutch hose, spacers to fix the seat sliders that I've not got round to fitting.
It's not perfect, but the worst of the bodywork are the sill folds in the wheel arches front and rear (see pictures). They're not toast but they would need a little TLC. I've made the front spoiler pick up a couple of touches on the 'points' much to my annoyance, and there's a small mark on the front nearside wheel arch. The wheels could do with a minor refurb at some point, with the worst of it being a kerb graze on the nearside rear wheel.
All in all, this car is well sorted mechanically and I would not anticipate anything major needing doing for a long time (that's not a binding promise, just opinion!) but if I was keeping it then at this age the hoses (coolant and brake) are probably the only thing I'd be looking to update, as well as the aforementioned sill areas, not that I've had any indication any actually need it.
