Description
Selling my Mercedes E Class 320 W124 Coupe after 5 years due to losing storage and not having the time to finish the final touches.
I was building a new custom show car but I have another one that is miles behind and do not have the space of time for both.
I only wanted the 320 as the engine is miles better than the smaller ones.
The car is a superb runner, and is smooth and powerful.
All gauges work and the car holds superb oil pressure and doesn't overheat.
The car was repainted in a LandRover colour, Montalicino Red.
In the Shade it has a lovely Deep Redwine colour to it and when the sun is out, it becomes as red colour and has a lovely metallic fleck to it.
The Merc has had the arches widened, and lowered on coil overs and the Wheels have been painted Satin black and same colour as the car. These are on Brand new tyres all round.
The end of the exhaust is a custom section made with an oval finish.
The interior is original and has had some of the elements colour coded to match the car.
It has had new engine wiring loom due to the old one going brittle, as they do.
The car has had new fuel tank installed and new fuels pumps due to the old one going rusty inside and dragging through debris into the old fuel pumps.
There are new discs and pads installed all round and has just had new MOT with no advisories.
The works I had done before the MOT were new bulbs, and a new light switch that controls the headlights and fog lights.
The bits that need finishing:
The sunroof was refitted by the paintshop but isn't quite right. Everything moves and works, it just needs setting up correctly by someone who knows what they are doing or has the time to spend on it.
The Seat belt butlers were both working fine when there was no interior fitted. Once the interior was refitted, there stopped working. I couldn't find the time to remove the areas and investigate why. Ive been told it's probably a plug that has come loose.
The electric mirrors stopped working once the central console was refitted. I reckon this is a plug that has come loose and will investigate if I can get the time.
There are a couple of little marks on the car from being moved around and worked on. Most of these will buff out with a good polish and is best seen for yourself as I dot think they are issues.
Having the time, I would remove the existing windows rubbers and re install them with time to dress them in better. They are in but think they could be done better.
When this car has been taken out, it receives so many nice comments and looks lovely.
To take it to the next level it needs a little amount of time to finish it where it deserves to be which I just don't have the time to do unfortunately. This Mercedes is a unique looking custom car and with the right person and some time, will be fantastic.
