The 500 SL—featuring the powerful 240 kW (326 hp) 5. 0-liter V8 four-valve engine (M119)—was unveiled in 1989 at the Geneva Motor Show; at the time, it stood as the most powerful production passenger car in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Its impressive acceleration—sprinting from zero to 100 km/ h in just 6. 2 seconds—and its electronically limited top speed of 250 km/ h are performance figures that remain significant even today.
The vehicle is also equipped with a dual-outlet catalytic converter, thereby meeting modern environmental standards. This particular example is a model with a fully stamped Mercedes-Benz service booklet, presented in "nearly-new" (Jahreswagen) condition.
The bodywork is entirely free of dents or scratches and gleams in flawless condition.
The underbody, too, is completely rust-free and appears never to have been exposed to road salt.
