Description

Reluctantly, we are selling this BMW 325ci. It's a car we love and have held onto a little too long. We have a toddler and the car doesn't get a look in these days for practicality reasons. I have known this car for 16 years which began when I started my career as a mechanic in London. I looked after it with its previous owner for a decade until she decided to buy something new in 2019. As a thankyou for looking after the car, she gifted it to me as she didn't want the hassle of selling it. I gladly took the car on knowing it had been looked after and never put a foot wrong in the years I'd known it. My wife and I have used this car for holidays and trips out, we drove it to Belgium for a week and we both love it. In my ownership, I have attended to the common M54 oil leaks; oil filter housing gasket, cam cover gasket and replaced the Vanos oil feed hose. I also rebuilt the Vanos with new seals as a matter of course for the mileage. The engine is a delight and matched with the smooth auto transmission, makes for a car you never want to stop cruising around in. The car was recently recalled for an Airbag and the technician commented on how good the condition of the underside is, being surprisingly corrosion free. The interior has aged well, the seats have some light cracking in the leather but the bolsters are fine. Front seats are memory electric. The stereo is the basic Business CD. The exterior of the car is not it's strong side. The front bumper was damaged when I took on the car, then it got scraped by a golf on the nearside front corner. It could do with a second hand bumper really. The hood looks sad too. It requires a professional clean to get the algae off. However there are no tears or leaks and the car hasn't ever been wet or damp inside. The wheels are not the best when it comes to alloys but their size does mean it rides well and tyres are cheap! The car is genuinely very comfortable on the larger tyres and I'm more thankful of this as our roads continue to deteriorate. Neither of the mirrors work for adjustment, a problem I never got round to resolving, we never moved them so it was a problem we didn't notice. The Air con isn't working either, it requires recharging. I'm confident in the system because it worked until I went to have it regassed, the machine sucked the gas out to carry out the vacuum test on the system and promptly stopped working. That was last summer. All in all, it's a very reliable car that is great to drive, it's not far from being a great example with a bit of love poured into it. I will do my best to answer questions promptly. Payment by Bank transfer only. Thankyou.
