Description
We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptional 1990 BMW E30 325i Convertible.
Introduced in 1982 as BMW’s second generation 3-Series, the E30 created an instant impact at the time of its launch. Offered in three distinctive body styles, (coupe, convertible and 4-door estate), and with both four and six-cylinder engine options, they were a joy to drive. These robustly built cars featured clean and understated styling and it was this combined with a deserved reputation for engineering excellence, that ensured the E30 quickly became BMW’s best-selling model of the era.
Aside from the legendary M3, the most powerful inline-six cylinder option was the 325i producing 169 bhp. The convertible versions were considered a compact and finely constructed option for those seeking the pleasure of a cabriolet who had grown weary of older and antiquated roadsters. The carefully designed bracing within the screen pillar gave ample roll protection and the convertible hood was neatly stored away under a steel panel. First seen in 1986, it was recognized and regarded as one of the best-looking convertibles of its era.
Finished in excellent metallic Dark Blue paintwork with black leather interior, black carpets and a Navy Blue convertible roof, the condition of this exceptional 325i belies its 35 years.
Highly specified with all-round electric windows and completed with 17″ Alpina Multispoke alloy wheels, this 325i convertible drives as well as it looks.
In addition to an extensive service history file for works completed over the past 35 years, the current owner has instructed marque experts, ‘Munich Legends’ to carry out a recent and full inspection and service. Not surprisingly, the 325i passed the inspection with flying colours.
Increasingly regarded as an era defining icon, the performance of the engine and all mechanicals together with the condition of the exterior bodywork, hood and leather interior are all exceptional.
