Description

ELSKER NORGE
Norwegian Hytte on Wheels | Toyota HiAce Campervan | One-Off Build

Why ELSKER NORGE?

✓ Thanks to its documented mileage, proven Toyota reliability and the legendary 2. 4D naturally aspirated diesel engine, this vehicle offers an excellent foundation for many more years of dependable travel.

✓ The biggest weakness of many older Japanese vehicles – corrosion – has been professionally addressed. The bodywork and chassis were repaired, sandblasted and comprehensively protected against future corrosion. The entire process is fully documented.

✓ Virtually a complete new conversion with a carefully thought-out layout: new upholstery, new electrical system, new water system and new off-grid power setup.

✓ A fully equipped off-grid travel camper featuring a solar system, leisure battery, diesel heater, compressor fridge, integrated toilet, outdoor shower and new all-terrain tyres.

✓ Compact and easy to drive, yet surprisingly spacious inside: a comfortable double bed, approximately 180 cm standing height and exceptional storage capacity.

✓ The last German TÜV inspection report from 2019 is available. The corrosion issues noted at that time were professionally repaired and documented during the restoration process.

✓ German registration documents (Part I & Part II) are present. The mileage is documented and verifiable. According to the registration history, the vehicle had only one previous owner before the last German owner.

✓ Complete photographic documentation of the body restoration, corrosion protection work and the entire camper conversion is available.

ELSKER NORGE is not a production camper and not another standard conversion. It is a handcrafted one-off build inspired by Norway, its fjords, mountains and the simple life close to nature.
The vehicle was created as a personal project based on years of travel experience and previous camper builds. The goal was to create an independent Scandinavian cabin on wheels — atmospheric, practical and ready for real adventures.

The interior combines natural wood, traditional Norwegian fabrics, warm ambient lighting and countless handcrafted details to create a unique living space. At the same time, it remains a fully functional off-grid camper designed for extended travel far beyond campsites and crowded tourist destinations.
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, ELSKER NORGE offers remarkable living and storage space. The large pull-out bed for two still allows access to the kitchen, sink, fridge, toilet, storage compartments and driver's area. The integrated toilet is cleverly hidden within the kitchen unit, while the compressor fridge is built into a seating box.

Private sale. No warranty, guarantee or returns. This 2003 Toyota HiAce spent most of its life in Germany before becoming the foundation for a complete restoration and bespoke camper conversion project.

When I acquired the vehicle, the legendary Toyota 2. 4D drivetrain was still performing exactly as these engines are known to do. The primary concern, typical of many older Japanese vehicles, was corrosion. As a result, the project began with extensive body and chassis restoration work. Corroded areas were professionally repaired, the chassis was sandblasted, treated with epoxy primer and protected using a multi-layer corrosion protection system. The entire process was photographically documented.

The camper conversion itself was never intended as a commercial project. Building unique campervans has long been one of my personal passions and creative outlets outside of my professional work. Each project is approached as if I were building it for myself rather than for a future buyer.

ELSKER NORGE was inspired by years of travelling through Norway, its fjords, mountain roads and remote cabins. The goal was to create a compact Scandinavian "hytte on wheels" that would combine atmosphere, practicality and true off-grid capability.

The result is a one-off campervan featuring a completely new handcrafted interior, new electrical and water systems, solar charging, diesel heating and extensive thermal insulation. Particular attention was given to creating generous storage space and maintaining full usability of the living area even when the bed is deployed.

German registration documents, historical TÜV records and documentation confirming the vehicle's mileage are present. The last German inspection report from 2019 is available, and the corrosion issues noted at that time were subsequently addressed during the restoration.

A comprehensive photographic record documenting the restoration, corrosion protection work and complete build process will be supplied to the next owner.
