This is a Defender with the expensive work already handled — ideal for enthusiasts who want a rust‑free foundation. I picked up this Defender 90 in January — although “picked up” might be generous, as it arrived mostly as boxes of parts. The previous owner had big plans to restore it into a beautiful Defender, but like many projects, it was stripped down without anything being labelled, bagged, or organised. As his interest faded, parts went missing, got mixed up, or disappeared entirely. That’s when I took it on.
The truck hasn’t seen the road since 1 November 1997. It had been sitting untouched in a barn for decades with no V5 or paperwork, but I now have the V5 in my name. Since taking ownership, I’ve been bringing it back to life piece by piece. It now has a brand‑new galvanised chassis, a growing list of new or reconditioned components, and a solid bulkhead and structure. The rebuild is still ongoing, but it’s finally heading in the right direction.
I’m open to a PX for a Capri Mk1 3. 0L — I don’t mind a project of equal value. I’d also consider a Mk1 Cortina 2‑door project of similar value. I’m quite flexible with what I can take on; even basket cases will be considered. Alternatively, I can sell for cash or PX. please be aware i have not started the veicle yet as i am waiting for parts to arrive but i dont see any problems with the engine as its got a bomb proof 200tdi fitted.
