Description
1999 Harley-Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail – Last Year Evolution – Just Under 28, 000 MilesA reluctant sale of my much-loved 1999 Harley-Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail, which I've owned and cherished for the last 15 years. This is one of the last Evolution-powered Heritage Softails, fitted with the legendary 1340cc carburetted Evo engine. Many Harley enthusiasts regard these late carburetted Evo models as the sweet spot of classic Harley ownership, combining timeless styling, simplicity and reliability. The bike has covered just under 28, 000 miles and has been carefully maintained throughout my ownership. I have carried out most of the routine servicing myself, including regular oil and filter changes, as I enjoy looking after my own bikes. It starts easily, runs beautifully and rides exactly as it should. The overall condition is very good for a 27-year-old motorcycle. The paintwork retains an excellent shine, the chrome presents very well and the bike has always been cared for rather than simply used. It has been garaged throughout my ownership. The only reason for selling is that I have found a professionally built Harley custom that I'd like to buy, so I'm hoping this bike will now go to another enthusiast who will appreciate it as much as I have. Finding a clean, low-mileage, late Evo Heritage with long-term ownership is becoming increasingly difficult, making this an excellent opportunity to own one of Harley-Davidson's most desirable classic Softails. Viewings are welcome, and I'm happy to answer any genuine questions or provide additional photographs and videos. I bought this Heritage because, to me, it represents Harley-Davidson at its very best. The last of the carburetted Evolution models combine timeless styling, mechanical simplicity and a character that later bikes just don't quite replicate. Over the last 15 years I've carefully looked after and maintained it, carrying out most of the servicing myself. I've also subtly customised it to my own taste—not to make it flashy, but to give it a more individual look while respecting its Heritage roots. I've always preferred understated modifications that enhance the bike without losing the classic lines and character that make these late Evo Softails so special. My favourite thing about the bike is undoubtedly the Evolution engine. It has that unmistakable Harley feel and sound, and every ride reminds me why these late carburetted Evo models have such a loyal following. I'm only selling because I've found a professionally built Harley custom that I've always wanted to own. Otherwise, this Heritage would be staying with me. I'd love to see it go to another enthusiast who appreciates these increasingly sought-after Evolution Heritage Softails and will enjoy it as much as I have.
