Description
Beautiful British Racing Green TR6 with ‘J Type’ overdrive on 3rd and 4th. Fully refurbished stone interior. Tax and MOT exempt. 9 former keepers. Originally built for the US market where it resided for the first 18 years of its life. Twin carburettors. Re-patriated in 1991 and converted to RHD some time after that. Extensive bodywork and refurbishment works, including blasting and painting of body shell and chassis; new panels and windscreen and respraying carried out in 2004/ 5. Major works totalling approx £7k on gearbox; overdrive; engine and other components completed in 2018. Wax-oiled in 2019. Rear suspension springs and shock absorbers replaced in 2020. Other works have been carried out on an ‘as and when required’ basis as recorded in the extensive invoice file. Odo says less than 10k miles, but I believe this does not include miles prior to replacement speedometer. Great car to drive. I’ve owned it for 3 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. When not in use it has been dry-stored in my garage and under a dust cover. Still starts first time even after a long lay-off. Very comfortable with the refurbished leather seats and the windbreaker does its job when the roof is down. I’ve never had any oil leakage or over-heating to have to deal with, which is a testament to all the works that have been carried out over the years. I’ve shown it off at several local vintage car shows since I’ve had it and it’s always been greatly admired for the genuine iconic classic that it is.
