Description
2000 Bentley Arnage Green Label – 4. 4 BMW V8 – “The Duchess”
I’ve been selling this car for numerous times but every time I sit in it I think, no chance! So to break the cycle while it’s tucked up in the garage I’ve decided to test the market for my Bentley Arnage, affectionately known in our family as “The Duchess.”
I’ve owned a wide variety of interesting vehicles over the years, but few have the character and occasion of an Arnage. Every journey feels special. The presence it puts on the road is unbeatable.
Finished in silver tempest with a sand cream hide interior, Cumbrian green carpets and matts with polished walnut throughout in excellent condition. The car presents exactly as a Bentley should.
Unlike the later Red Label cars, this is the original 4. 4-litre twin-turbo BMW V8 model with Twin Garett turbos as it was designed to be so It delivers its performance in a smooth, refined manner and suits the character of the car perfectly. It starts, drives and cruises effortlessly, making it an ideal grand tourer. Wither your pondering down country lanes or clocking up motorway miles the Bentley will do the job in style
Highlights
* 4. 4-litre twin-turbo BMW V8
* Automatic transmission
* Cream leather interior
* Beautiful walnut veneer throughout
* Electric memory seats
* Climate control
* Original Bentley alloy wheels
* Current MOT until August 26, will come with fresh 12 months or can have a chat on price.
* Three keys
* loads or history (main dealer in early life, followed by specialist, in my time (9 years) I’ve replaced the Lesiure battery 2025, replaced the rear spheres 2025, replaced the rear wheel bearings 2023.
The interior remains one of the car’s standout features. The dashboard is a work of art and everywhere you look there are reminders of the craftsmanship Bentley was renowned for.
Naturally, it isn’t a new car. It is now over 25 years old, so I would encourage prospective buyers to view it as a well-cared-for modern classic rather than expect perfection. I’d much rather describe it honestly than pretend otherwise.
Things to note and save time.
* there are minor blisters on the back arches.
* there are minor rusting around the sunroof
* the steering wheel leather has delaminated
* the rear seat belt has a stain
* there is slight wear on the rear seats.
* the hand brake function has been disabled.
The only reason for offering it is that I have a habit of buying interesting vehicles, and another opportunity has come along. If it doesn’t sell, I genuinely won’t be disappointed to continue enjoying it.
These early BMW-engined Arnages are becoming increasingly rare. They occupy an interesting place in Bentley’s history, in my opinion the best of both worlds with traditional Bentley craftsmanship with BMW engineering.
Viewings are welcomed and encouraged. I’d much rather a buyer came, looked over the car properly and knew exactly what they were purchasing.
