** REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE**
For sale is my Volvo C70. I had been looking for one of these modern-classic P80 Volvos for a long time, and finding a T5 Manual spec one was somewhat of a challenge. I purchased the car from a family who had previously owned it since 2006, and I have owned the car for just over 6 months. It has been a pleasure to drive on long commutes and especially nice to get the roof down at every opportunity on these hot days! The 5 cylinder sound will never grow old on me and it is still a very fast car by today's standards.
Since my ownership it has benefitted from 4 new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyres, and it went through its MOT at the end of May.
The bodywork is in good condition with a couple of age related scuffs and marks. The interior again is in good condition for the car's age with some cosmetic wear as expected of a 23 year old car.
Mechanically: The engine runs smoothly and has never missed a beat. It is due a service which I haven't got round to doing yet, however it's the next thing to do should no I receive no interest from this advert (and price increased accordingly).
Electronically: All the in-car features work perfectly as expected. The stereo (award winner in 1999) sounds great being the GT spec with the centre mounted subwoofer.
Bad points:
Unfortunately, since taking the car back up home from university, part of the roof mechanism above the driver’s door that moves the locks out of the windscreen pillar has broken making it inoperable both electronically and manually. The part needed is only a small plastic fitting on the worm drive but replacing it would require the roof canvas taking back to access the mechanism (labour intensive), and I’ve been told a second-hand replacement roof would almost be an easier job for a similar cost.
The handbrake also doesn’t hold when facing up hills, but works facing down hill.
It's a shame to have to let it go as it has been a pleasure to own and drive, but I simply don't have the time or money anymore to put aside to fixing the small things to make it 100%. It will make a great car for someone and put a smile on your face for anyone who knows these appreciating Volvo's.
The car is currently located near Mansfield NG17, viewings welcome.
More photos and a walk-around anvailble upon request.
History: The P80 C70 is a staple of Volvo's transition from boxy estate/ saloon cars to the sleeker P2-era. The car looks amazing with the roof up or down, drives fantastically on long or short journeys and sounds incredible with the T5 engine. The car will only become more desirable as it ages with only a handful on the road today!
